Abram Zoller was born in Freysbush, New York just outside the village of Fort Plain. His parents were John and Eliza Zoller. As a young man he was associated in the produce business with his brother and then the shoe business. Later he and his brother started an egg business in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. In 1883 he built his mansion on Prospect Hill in the village of Fort Plain. He lived there for 25 years. His name can be found fashioned in slate on the roof of the carriage house yet today
